hmm, im in the mood of lecturing today.
lemme talk abt something barh.
ok, so the scenario goes like this.
brandon was talking to me how much the part b detest me,
and how much he wants me to change my style of doing things in NCC,
and how much fun they want,
and how can i help to cooperate with him.
some kind of thoughts rushed into my head.
firstly was that im glad that brandon,
he didnt mind those probs earlier,
and was willing to to help.
secondly, was the kind of life we should have in NCC.
all i knew is,
when we don the no 4 uniform,
our lives belong to the nation,
our spirits are with the company.
in a military organisation,
it is very important for us to have discipline, order, obedience,
and most importantly, teamwork.
to an extent, im glad that brandon could rmb about the last virtue.
but what about the first 3?
sometimes, they didnt like me for doing things the traditional way.
they hate the old boring schedule.
they didnt like my serious demeanour i have in NCC.
they want fun and joke. they want enjoyment.
i've read a passage somewhere before,
and it goes like this:
"In certain points of life,
when you've choose something that will cause a change in your life,
it is very crucial that you should also change how you are,
to suit that life."
take for an instance,
marriage. when you choose a partner,
means that you've choose to lead a life different from before.
same goes for NCC, the moment we swear in,
we had choosen a different path to walk.
what that is disappointing is that many couldn't understand this.
when many ppl choose to lead their old life in a different situation,
this always brought about unhappiness.
and this, is the very reason that leads to divorce most of the times.
same for NCC.
when we choose to swear in,
means that we've choosen a life of discipline, a life of order,
during all those training sessions.
what is disappointing is,
many of my mate didn't heed this,
and the company seems to be falling, due to this reason.
perhaps mr ng would blame me for the power struggle.
but all i did is, im protecting the virtues,
the very virtues that will make sure that the company's foundation wouldn't crumble.
when an IC is being humiliated in front of his men,
how is he going to command the respect of his men in the future?
bringing another kind of lifestyle into NCC,
replacing the old one.
this is not liberation, this is not new age,
this is towards decline.
what's a military organisation gonna be,
without those order and discipline?
"I dreamed of a unified Japan. Of a country strong and independent and modern... Now we have railroads and cannon and Western clothing. But we cannot forget who we are. Or where we come from. - The Last Samurai, Emperor Meiji."
same goes for NCC.
we can change, we can have fun,
we can add in soccer during PT,
we can change the system of some things used to be.
but we cannot deny the fact that this is NCC.
we cannot deny the fact that we're in a military rganisation.
we cannot deny the life that has to be lead this way.
When you've choosen to take a certain path in your life, certain sacrifices has to be made.
