Stauffenburg's secret Germany, my desired Singapore.

well i believe some of you have watched before the movie,
"Valkyrie" by Tom Cruise, or at least heard of this Operation Valkyrie.
it was then back in the WW2 when a group of people wanted to assassinate Hitler,
and achieve their 'secret Germany' by destroying the Fascist dictatorship.
though they failed in the end and Stauffenburg, the main conspirator got killed,
but this incident remains a heroic legend that many would never have done.

to go onto such a dangerous act to assassinate Hitler,
that must have requires not just a lot of bravery and courage,
but also a lot of planning and plotting.
but all we can see here, is not just about Stauffenburg's courage,
but his strong desire for his country, the patriotic feeling.
he wanted a non-racist Germany, no Fascist dictators, peace.

i used to compared what i wanted for my country to be with him.
i compared my courage and patriotic feelings with Stauffenburg.
i used to compare how much im willing to give in for my country to him.

today i think how i want Singapore to be like.
i want a Singapore...
without starvation,
without poor folks,
with good living conditions,
with absolute justice and equality,
with everyone rich enough to spend heavily on the local economy,
with our own weapon and industrial production plants,
with our own farms and agriculture movements,
with everyone healthy and fit.

i want Singaporeans...
to be all educated properly,
to know all virtues and morals and carry out them,
and they'll never starve, never worry about money,
they'll have their rights to protest against whats wrong,
and they will be educated and train to be more superior than those up north in China,
those west in US, those east in Japan, those south in Australia.

i know i sound more like crapping.
but this is my desired Singapore.
i want a strong and independent Singapore,
and i'm going to work towards that.

maybe my effort alone is not enough for my country.
but as long as we Singaporeans untied together,
we'll find our way out,
and become one of those that go onto the international stages.
