Ain't no Losers

it's another typical middle-of-the-week;
everything took a little change during lessons today.
you get more work, and then you get a bit of stress;
as well as shit in various shapes and sizes.

received a lot of work today;
and then there's a couple of tests coming up.
got some CCA shit to settle today;
soon, it'll be NDP.
imagine you kena order around like a dog under someone else.

unlike the NCO who shout like no tomorrow at the 3rd floor's corridor.
CO members miss my shoutings please, haha.

and look at the picture above;
two symbols of a country.
tulips and windmill- the Netherlands.
aka, Holland.

all of us should know that Holland got 2nd in the recent 2010 World Cup;
unlike the Spainish Team which returned in glory,
the Dutch went back devastated, disappointed, and emo.

in life, many of the society's rat race requires a champion.
a winner, a king, just and only.
to the society, certain times, or most of the times,
one hero to win the glory is just more than enough.
the number will always stop at one.
The World Cup too, we only need one champion team.

i do believe all the losers of the world doesn't feels good at all.
going under others, and then deemed as those that are incompetent;
sometimes, even being condemned by the world,
just because they lost.
we call them 'the second winning team in place',
or just 'the first losing team after the winners'.

be it 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th...
as long as that is not a number one,
you are a loser.

Buzz Aldrin, the second man to land on Moon after Neil Armstrong;
unlike Armstrong, he didn't enjoyed the glorification of the human race,
having his name mentioned in history textbooks,
his pictures appearing in stamps and posters;
just because he was the second man to land on Moon.

even though he did not enjoyed the fame and glory as Armstrong did,
Aldrin never, ever woe or complained about anything.
instead, he said something which amazed me,
"I was not the first man to set foot on Moon,
but I am the first man to set foot on Earth after coming back from Moon."

many times in life, we often glorified the winners;
the first in place, the champions,
just for being the creme la de creme,
cream of the corps.

many times we forget about those that came after the champion,
we had also tried their best too;
putting in as much effort as the winner,
sometimes even more than what the winner put in.

i personally think that winning is just a stroke of luck most of the times;
crowning champion, hailing Lord,
perhaps what differs you and others is just Luck.
maybe at times, we focus on such glory too much-
at a point in which we forget it was those that has been unlucky,
made this lucky one the champion.

everyone is number one, i shall say.
having to take up a challenge in the first place,
and then setting your will to complete it;
not giving up throughout the whole course,
and climbing back onto his feet everytime he falls.

that is what that have makes one person a champion.

in this society, champions are needed;
needed as heroes, needed as the first.
perhaps not for the losers that have been so unlucky,
we wouldn't have our heroes of the headlines.
yet again, without the lucky chap that got his champion by will or luck;
we wouldn't have peeps weeping just because they 'failed'.

it's all about a chicken and egg theory;
it get endless after all.
but what matters is that,
for everything you have done,
its just whether if you have done your best for it.
if you have, then you are a champion.

today i stood here, applauding and cheering;
for those who came in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th... in everything;
competition, challenge, exams, whatsoever.
indeed it takes a lot of courage and will to go through something hard;
and even more to accept the fact that your efforts never pay off.

i clap for their professionalism,
i clap for their courage.

i salute their effort,
and their will to complete everything hard.

everyone is number one!
