as usual, another bad school day;
so let's skip all the shit all the way to CCA this afternoon.
the climax of the whole thing was the NDP parade rehearsal.
and let's cut the crap;
the climax of the climax happens when it is my time to do something.
i'm standing in front, facing the whole parade-
as the parade marker, duh!
okay, so i was suppose to slow march for the GOH inspection;
and when it's time to do so,
i turn back to Ms Noraini and Mr Lim YK,
saying that 'i dunno how to slow march.'
it's kind of a shock to them; as well as for me.
because i was never really brief on what to do,
taught and what to do,
told of where to go. ugrh.
and our very first rehearsal i ended up as the only flaw.
seriously screwed everything up,
with all the UGs laughing at me;
somemore, the CO was upstairs.
i didn't know where to put myself to,
but i told myself, i shall make them shut up.
so when other people are taking a break during res times;
i'm practising my slow marching skills with CK Ng.
and at the second rehearsal-
i typically shut them up.
but sadly that the CO didn't see the second rehearsal,
so next rehearsal i shall shut everyone else up.
many times in life,
you will always come across situations that put yourself in an unfavourable manner.
like today,
i'm stranded alone in the whole mess i made;
no consolation from anyone, nothing at all.
certain times in life we have to understand,
that we are the only ones that could help ourselves.
if we don't take the initiative to help ourselves;
then how we are going to expect others to help us?
for any of my men who see this;
i'm here telling you,
in many unfavourable situations you have to be the one helping yourselves first.
only when you show others a glimpse of hope in you,
then others will lend you a helping hand.
for those that are not up to standards in the platoon;
you are the only ones that can help yourselves.
not me, not your sergeant.
oh, and another thing.
today my 12 men marched with absolute precision;
earning themselves the praises of other UGs.
finally, i did a bit to change the impression of other UGs towards NCC.
and for anyone that see this,
i just want to say,
the men who trained the NCC supporting contingent,
is none other than me, yours truly, thungyitian.
not the sergeant major, not any other men, but ME.
the follower's behaviour reflects the leader's leading ability.
looking at how they are doing well,
and how they earned recognition in the school;
not only i feel proud for them,
yet i also feel proud for myself;
feel proud for my achievement that begets for greater achievements.
