Recognition

Upon a cliff he sworn to skies,
"I be the one", passionate enough,
"To have the last glory in my hands."
Double the effort and triple the work,
Do grudges, no sweat, he worked his way,
Hoping for one moment of recognition.

Days passed, weeks flew;
He is still there,
As naive, as docile,
As passionate he was.
Never a word of complain, never a verse of hate;
Silently and enthusiastically,
He work for his dreams.

Journey of life, he ran it well;
Too much obstacles, he tripped and fell.
"Nevermind, I'll get back up," he said tearfully,
"Let this fall be a motivational one."

Weeks flew, years went;
He was still there,
As status quo.
No longer naive, no more docile;
Shattered dreams and broken wishes,
None but these were left.

Sun rise, and sun set;
Dark came, and dark left.
The teen grew to an adult,
Only broken dreams to pay for maturity.
Never foolish, never deceived;
He put his feet to the ground,
Accepting reality.
Often in life, some moments,
Somewhere among the hectic schedule;
He took a sit under an oak tree,
And dreamt his dreams once more.

Given up, given in;
Today, affinity knocks upon his door once more.
"Take it easy," he mumbled,
"Dreams are too hard to be achieved."
Failed the squares and missed the range,
"Pen in my hand," awkward destiny.

Desperately, sincerely,
"A vote for my abilities!"
His dream was sparked once more.
Up and up went the numerals,
More and more went the views.
Tearfully, thankfully,
he hoped things keep status quo;
"The only honour in four years,"
He thanked heavens for its compassion.

Back to the cliff,
Where he once stood;
The river under changed its course,
The skies above were no longer as clear.
Not for fame, not for honour;
All he want is,

Recognition.
