cherish

certain times i tend to think in a certain way:
when will we really lose all the only possessions that we are having now?
and also,
when will those people beside us leave us, leaving us behind, all alone?
and yet,
when will the only things to our name disappear,
leaving only a memory of fame from yesterday?

yesterday i faced with a crisis.
a crisis of losing the only thing i have to my name:
losing my platoon.
with 7 men on medical leave and one guy skipping training,
no doubt any higher superiors will take notice of it.
now, it land me in great trouble.
and then, soon, perhaps, i'm going to lose the last of whatever i have.

really, my luck as a cadet is coming to an end.

but this time round, the feeling is kinda different;
i don't feel sad, regretful, or whatever;
instead, i told myself,
after all, fate has it; my journey, might have to end.

being defeated in life many times,
losing out to many people at different phrases of life;
all these, sometimes, would really change your perspective.

upon receiving the order to discipline the kids,
i have always knew that it was my last stand.
my very, very last stand.
i knew, sooner or later, i have to leave them;
for them to roam freely, for them to fight a empire of their own.

at that point of time when i took over,
i choose to cherish them,
as well as cherishing the time i have with them;
teaching them, nurturing them, as much as i can.

for i knew that my authority over them wouldn't be eternal,
for i knew that one day they have to part with me.

but little did i knew that my ending would be such a 'nice' one.

it's about a month;
and now, i faced a crisis with them.
losing the ticket to SSC is nothing to speak of;
what matters is that if i got the sack,
i wonder who else would bring them towards glory.
that kiddy mate of mine? or oliver?
i don't know.

but at least i knew that i have cherish the time well;
using it to 'dig' out the potential within a few people.

a few that have never been realised in the past;
some others, giving them the encouragement to go to further extents.

it's really touching to see cadets loving the CCA,
as well as seeing a formidable platoon is formed in just three weeks.

after all, i've done my job.

everything in this world is not eternal.
wait, no, there is one.

the merits you've done to do others good.

cherish the time today, and do something good;
perhaps tomorrow, you wouldn't get a chance to do so anymore.
