i was having a late night chat with my aide-de-camp last night;
and then, we mentioned about a lot of things.
about the heroes of the company, the dogs, and the cowards.
we mentioned of our vision, and our fears.
twenty seven men, me and CJ's six chevrons.
first chevron: improving the standard and discipline fast in one month.
second chevron: changing the school's stereotype on NCC.
third chevron: starting the syllabus faster than ever.
fourth chevron: changing cadet's attitude towards NCC and life.
fifth chevron: understanding the concept of teamwork and communications.
sixth chevron: trained to do the 'eyeball' method.
the 'eyeball' method is a way of communication,
in which when the platoon sergeant looked towards one side,
then the cadets will go towards that direction.
i still remember when Warrant Eric said this during spec course,
all the impression was 'what the hell?', 'animal trainer'.
but apparently i did it, and it was a big success.
at that very moment, i felt so proud, so achieved.
they weren't listening to my words.
they are looking at my eyeballs.
i don't have much to boast about;
but i can boast about my platoon.
what's so good is that i had 27 good gentlemen,
who created miracles after miracles;
and an excellent aide-de-camp,
who never fail to support me and advise me all the time.
and also a good ASM who always help to counsel the cadets.
i never gained much in NCC,
but i gained this good and happy experience.
learning from my men, my aide-de-camp.
and so, back to the story, we talked about various things.
talked about the current actions;
what possibilities it will lead to,
and when will these ominous events take place.
i was very, very upset with my mate,
and sympathetic with my juniors-
his decision to seek survival like a coward,
affected the prosperity of the next three generations.
what the hell, man; i'll never call him my friend and brother anymore.
take it that i made a wrong friend!
and me and my aide-de-camp when on;
talking about the various miracles we made;
the kiri/kanan belok, the tip top standard, the eyeball method...
there's a lot, too much to list, haha.
and CJ said this to me,
"At first I was a bit skeptical about all these when you said them.
But when we did it I think we started all right.
Miracles do happen.
every friday, me, CJ, and the 27 of them;
we created miracle after miracle.
to me, they are somehow a burden;
sometimes, my impulsiveness have to give a thought for them.
yet, they are a console;
an achievement in my life, a good learning experience.
when C/LTA Edil told me that,
"Rank is a piece of cloth. Respect is what you earn.",
i didn't really understand this.
until all that took place yesterday,
and i saw those who swore allegiance to me,
willing to pick up their arms and die for me....
i finally understand those words.
