忍辱负重

上图为胯下之辱,下图为卧薪尝胆。
汉代大将韩信身受胯下之辱,而因此有日后汉高祖拜为统军大将;
越王勾践不忘复国大志,终日躺在木柴上,口吃苦胆,
提醒自己一定要忍辱负重,待来日复国雪耻。

the two pictures are of two stories from dynastic china;
first being Han general Han Xin,
crawling across the legs of a street thug to stop the cause of troubles.
he later went on to become a general from a parasite.
the second shows the picture of King of Yue, Gou Jian,
laying on firewood and tasting the gall bladder of a leopard,
to remind himself of the shame of being invaded by the State of Wu,
and to remind himself not to forget to revive his country.

the two stories are typical stories from the past,
telling us about the art of endurance.
this is not just physical endurance;
enduring elements, enduring scoldings, enduring hardships;
but enduring something that is more towards the mental and emotional side;
enduring shame, dishonour, injustice, and any other immoral stuff.

perhaps throughout everything in life,
the art of endurance is something that is the hardest to master;
to endure great shame, and to lie out low isn't something many can do.
however, just because that these people have greater endurance,
to endure such great shame and dishonour,
thus they gained the willpower to achieve things mortals couldn't achieve.

many a times we suffered injustice in various forms,
many a times we suffered shame and dishonour;
many a times we suffered back-stabbing and sabotaging,
many a times we suffered troubles that are caused by others.

at the point when the even take place,
no matter how much you say or do,
you are still in the wrong.
lie low, train hard, remember the shame;
wait till time arises, and then prove everyone wrong.

of course, you guys pls don't misunderstand what i'm trying to convey;
don't because you failed doing something unscrupulous,
then you lie low and try doing it again.

many a times in life i suffered tons of injustice,
tons of setbacks, tons of shame and dishonour.
however, everytime i would remind myself of the two stories above;
to remember the shame, and wait till chance arises,
then clear it.

take setbacks and injustice as trainings for you.
they are what that makes a boy a man,
a man a hero.
that is what i mean by 胯下之辱;
to remember, as well as learn from a shame or dishonour,
then push oneself further.

behind every ten success stories,
one out of ten has went through shame and dishonour.
and usually these are the people that shines brighter than others.

don't be eager to avenge a shame all the time;
learn from the setback, and push yourself further.
take the revenge by proving others wrong.
